Week Eight

Reagan is a whopping eight weeks old today...

...she'll be officially two months on the twenty-ninth.

How is this possible?!

(Insert sad-mommy-face here.)

Well, I guess since I can't stop time, I'd better enjoy it before it flies by!  And I'm happy to report that this last week has been A LOT better than the few weeks before!  Praise the Lord!

Miss Reagan has been sleeping better; she slept over eight hours one night!  Woohoo!  (Unfortunately, I have to get up and pump in the middle of the night, regardless of how long she sleeps...so I didn't get to experience this amazing stretch of slumber, lol.)  We're trying to transition her to her crib now---starting with going from the napper to the pack n' play.  Let's just say the last two nights we've done this, Tucker the Cat was the only one in the house who got any sleep.  But I know it takes a little time to make the change, so we'll keep at it! ;)

She's also been eating well, which clearly shows by those cheeks and thigh rolls. ;) According to our scale here, Miss Chunky Butt weighs almost ten pounds now!  I can't wait to see how much she weighs by the time we go to her two month appointment next Wednesday!  I've already had to go through her clothes and put away the stuff she's outgrown, which is pretty much most of the "newborn" items.  As sad as this is, I'm excited she's fitting into her "0-3 month" stuff now, because those outfits are even cuter! Haha!

Her wake times have been a lot more enjoyable, which is exciting to both her Daddy and I!  She smiles a lot and likes to carry on conversations about stuff we don't quite understand yet.  Her fussiness during these periods of the day have decreased, which is quite nice! I was actually able to put her down on her play mat yesterday and let her "entertain" herself for a good twenty minutes before she started to fuss.  Hey, I'll take what I can get! lol  Now I'm looking into buying a baby exersaucer for her...I can't wait to see her playing in one of those!  Eek!

Alrighty, let's look at some recent pictures of my little butter bean!

*My little strawberry enjoying her play time on Mr Bear!

*These next three are a little blurry, but they were from our morning snuggles together...love those little smiles and giggles so much!

*Miss Sailor ready to take on the day!  Good thing I snapped this pic when I did, because she promptly spit up all over it once our photo shoot was over.  I'm finding this happens a lot...thank God she has TONS of clothes! ;)

*Enjoying watching her Mommy get ready for the day...I love that inquisitive look she gives me.

*More morning snuggles and smiles from my watermelon baby!

*Baby blues...gah.

*And, as usual, this last one is from today.  Poor thing was so tuckered out from a shopping trip with me she could barely finish her meal.  I said barely.  Homegirl doesn't like to waste food, lol.

Well, I must have impeccable timing today because as I'm finishing this post, Baby Girl just started to stir from her nap!  I hope you all have a blessed day and week!  I'll meet you back here next week for our two month post! :)

Verse/Thought of the Day:
"Trust in Him at all times, O people;
pour our your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge."
Psalm 62:8

If something is troubling you, give it to
God.
He may not "fix" the problem right away, but just talking it
through with Him and knowing He's working on His
master plan
for your life can turn a rotten day into a rockin' one!

Week Seven of Baby Heaven

Well, okay...I'll admit it.

It's not always heavenly.  It's not always rainbows and butterflies.

Sometimes it's mentally, physically, and emotionally exhausting.

Those of you who are already mommies know exactly what I mean. But you also know that for every not-so-good day you have (you know, the ones that make you question your ability as a parent), one seems to follow it that makes you fall in love with them all over again!  Isn't it amazing how God plans it out like that? ;)

We have definitely had our days here lately where we feel like we're at our wits end (Miss Priss was extra fussy this weekend)...but I still wouldn't trade my little Peanut---or being her Mommy---for anything in the world!  In the same way God blesses us with these tiny miracles, He also blesses us with the ability, patience, and knowledge needed to parent and nurture them.  Thank you, Father!

Even though Reagan's had her fussy times, she also has had some super cute moments, too!  Let's check 'em out, shall we? :)

*This chick cracks me up when she sleeps.  Her facial expressions and arm movement/placement change every five minutes, and they're all just stinkin' adorable!

*Peanut is definitely a morning baby--always smiling first thing!  She likes to go to bed early (around 8:30-9:30pm) and get up around 7-7:45am (with a middle of the night feeding around 4-4:30).  Fine by me---as long as we're all getting our sleep in! Mommy needs her beauty sleep, after all! lol

*Since the weather hasn't been quite as humid lately (but still in the 90's), we've been taking baby girl on a few strolls in the neighborhood.  She loves it (as do I)!  I can't wait till it's officially Fall and the weather is nice enough to be able to do it every day!

*This face.  I mean, really.  I'm so in love! <3

*Another (slightly blurry) example of her super smiley self in the morning...

*I'm so glad I was able to capture this sweet moment...Reagan sleeping so peacefully on her Daddy's chest.  I think he's just a tad bit smitten himself...just a tad ;)

*I call this one "Well pppppttttt to you, too!" lol

*Being a baby is really rough, as you can tell.  She had to take a break and catch a little snooze...even though she'd only been up for an hour, lol.

*This one was taken today.  It makes me smile from ear too ear!  (Sadly, this precious outfit--complete with birdie bib--didn't make it long...it was the victim in a spit-up accident that happened shortly after.  So far, it's been outfit #1 of 3, and the day's only half over! lol)

Alright, now that you've gotten your Reagan-fix for the week...time for a stroll with the milk munchkin!   As always, thank you all for checking in on us and for continuing to lift us up in prayer!  We love y'all! :)

Verse/Thought of the Day: "Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6:33)
If we make God and His plan for us our number one priority,
He will bless us beyond belief!

Peanut's Six Week Birthday

I know it seems like I say this every week, but where has the time gone??  How is my little girl already six weeks old?!  She's going to be graduating kindergarten before we know it.  And then high school...and then getting married...GAH.  Somebody please, stop the madness! lol

Even though it's only been a week, it seems like she's changed so much!  She's definitely developing a strong personality, which I would describe as feisty, energetic, and easy-going all rolled into one (if that's even possible, lol).  I have a feeling she is going to keep us laughing (and moving!) as she gets older!

Here are some of the things Reagan likes to do as of right now:

-smile (she gives her Daddy and I big grins at least once a day)

-enjoy morning time (she's not a fan of night time and often gets fussy before bed)

-kick her legs

-"talk" (we've had some great conversations during story/tummy time in the morning!)

-poop (sorry, but it's true! lol)

-eat...a lot

-make funny faces (homegirl has about a million expressions--each one equally as cute!)

And here are some pics of Miss Priss from this week:

*Getting ready to go to lunch with some friends...although she slept the entire trip, lol.  (BTW, this headband is courtesy of her Aunt Coco, who has an Etsy store called "Coco's Bow-tique".  I personally believe every little girl needs some of Coco's bows/headbands! ;) )

*Pouty face because her Mommy woke her up.  See?  Even this expression is adorable!

*Reagan-snuggles are my fave. :)

*This is what I like to call "passed out milk drunk and naked".  But my child had the modesty to shield her face from the paparazzi. ;) We had a major blowout that morning that managed to destroy the onesie, too, so we opted for a meal in the buff (well, with a diaper on, at least).  And from the look of things, I guess it was a good meal! lol

*All smiles while sitting in her Daddy's lap!

*She likes some of her pics to be more "candid"...so this is her "I'm trying not to pose" pose.

*Enjoying her daily ride in the Baby Bjorn...I love that thing, and apparently she does, too!  Her GG calls this "a little glimpse of Heaven", and I have to agree! :)

*All ready for game day!  I believe she was still a little milk drunk in this pic, too. Haha.

*And lastly, this one was from this morning as we were getting ready for my dentist appointment.  We were having a conversation about seeing her GG and getting to eat Pho Vy today (after all, it is vietnamese Tuesday!).  She was so excited!

Wow, I think the number of pics I post each week are growing...sorry, guys!  I'm just soooo in love and want to share this amazing, tiny blessing God has granted us with you all! She'll probably be upset with me one day when she's old enough to realize she has a site with a million baby pictures of her on it and thousands of people reading it...but oh well!  At least then she'll know how prayed for and loved she is! :)

Alrighty then.  Time for some more chores and a few minutes of "Mommy time" before the munchkin wakes up hungry again!  I have three appointments this week (tomorrow is my six-week follow-up with Dr S...yaaaay!) and Reagan is accompanying me to all of them, so we're busy, busy, busy!  Prayers are appreciated! lol

As always, here is the Verse of the Day: "Let the morning bring word of Your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in You.  Show me the way I should go, for to You I lift up my soul." (Psalm 143:8) I hope this blesses your day and encourages you to make it through this week!

We've Arrived At Week Five

Everyone tells you it gets easier every week, and I, for one, have to say this is true!

The fussiness gets to be a little more tolerable everyday; you start to form something resembling a schedule; the midnight wake-up calls become routine; the breastfeeding becomes less painful (and you learn to "hook" the baby up and walk around the house---so convenient! lol).  By week five, you start to say, "Hey, I think I might be able to do this whole parenting thing!" And I hear it gets even better around week twelve---woohoo! ;)

As you can tell, things are going pretty well in our little household.  We've still got some kinks to work out, but we're taking it day by day and learning as we go!  I still feel so blessed to be able to call myself this little angel's Mommy---gah!  I can't wait to see what the next few months hold as we watch her grow and as we, ourselves, grow as parents.

As always, here are a few pics of Miss Reagan:

**This is one of the best shots I could get of her in her "one month" onesie...she was more interested in what was going on outside the window than the camera, lol.

**I call this look the "pirate baby" smile.  Melts my heart! :)

**Looking all prim and proper in her ballerina onesie.

**Love that sweet face!

**All decked out and cheering for our Florida Gators on Saturday!

**Reagan and I in our Gator garb...

**This is her "Please, Mum...may I have some more??" face.  Just presh.

**She reminds me of the pig off that Geico commercial when she does this with her hands ("Wee, wee, weeeeeee!").  And yes, she was dead asleep like this, lol.

I swear, I fall more and more in love with her every day (if that's even possible)!  She definitely has her Daddy and I wrapped around her long little finger already...we're in so much trouble when she's old enough to start asking us for stuff! LOL

Time to go do those pesky chores that have been piling up again...blah.  But today is also the day I'm allowing myself to decorate for fall (my favorite time of year!), so I'm super excited about that!  Yes, I know it's "technically" a little early for fall decor, but at least I made myself wait till after Labor Day! ;)

Till next week, here's my Verse of the Day, which is all about praising our almighty God!  "Happy are the people whose God is the Lord!" (Psalm 144:15)

Side Note:  I totally forgot to update you on Peanut's one month appointment last week!  Oopsie!  She weighed in at 8 pounds, 9 ounces and measured 21 inches long...a total gain of 2 pounds, 4 ounces and 2 whole inches since we were discharged from the hospital!  Yaaaaay!  I guess Mommy's milk does a body good, eh? ;) The doctor was very pleased with her growth and developmental milestones (she's starting to track our faces and can hold her head up VERY well!).  What a blessing for such a good report!  Now we're good to go till that dreaded two month appointment when she'll receive her first round of vaccinations...ugh.  Thank God I have a whole month to prepare myself! lol
